If the PMO avoids these pitfalls, it can maintain and increase influence over time by:
Maintaining successful services, with small improvements such as:
Making changes in response to customer and stakeholder feedback
Maintaining or improving service at reduced cost
Improving publicity for the service so it is used more widely
Increasing measurability, by
Continuing to refine definitions of benefits
Improving data collection and analysis
Extending itself into new areas, by
Identifying stakeholders who are not yet using, or under-utilizing, PMO services and reaching out to them.
Meeting with senior management to review strategic plans and issues and define projects that are key to corporate growth throught the Project Management Life Cycle.
