A review is a standard part of the process of each project. There is one review at the end of each phase. There is also a final review at the end of the project, called the Post Implementation Review. It is usually held about three months after the project is over, so it can evaluate not only final delivery, but also the effectiveness of project results in use. Reviews need relatively little independence. It is generally sufficient to have a reviewer from the PMO join the team and make sure the review is performed, primarily by the project team, in a thorough and objective way.
