Maturity Throughout the Life Cycle
When a company is mature in its project management capability, it has the ability to select projects and carry them through to successful completion. When this is viewed in terms of the project managment life cycle, it means that the company can say:
During project selection, before initiation: These are the projects that would most benefit the company in the next year.
During Initiation:
The company capable of managing most of these projects to successful completion using its routine capability.
Some projects are beyond are routine capability. The company has designated them high risk and assigned them to the Manage Special Projects Service. The company knows they might not succeed, but they are worth trying to accomplish
